RUF briquettes are rectangular blocks measuring about 15×9×6 cm and weighing 0.8-1 kg, pressed from dry sawdust on a hydraulic press. They are named after the German equipment manufacturer, so on the market "RUF" means a type of briquette rather than a brand. This is the most common type of fuel briquette in Ukraine: the neat "brick" stacks easily on a pallet, can be portioned piece by piece and does not crumble in transport.
How they burn. Density 0.75-0.9 g/cm³, calorific value about 4.5-5 kWh per kilogram, moisture up to 10%, ash content 0.5-1.5%. One boiler load burns for 2-3 hours with an even flame and almost no smoke, and a 10 kg pack leaves just a handful of ash. RUF briquettes light from paper and kindling, like firewood, and need no special conditions: any solid fuel boiler, stove or fireplace will do.
Hardwood or mixed wood. Briquettes made from oak, ash and beech are denser and heavier, burn longer and give more heat: the option for a fireplace and for anyone who prefers to load less often. Mixed wood (with softwood sawdust) is cheaper per tonne, catches fire faster and works perfectly in a boiler. The difference in calorific value is 5-10%, while the difference in price is noticeably bigger.
Packaging. A 10 kg pack in shrink film holds 12 briquettes. A pallet is 96 packs, about 960 kg: a two- to three-month supply for a house of 100-150 m². For boiler houses: by the pallet, delivered by carrier.
Price and delivery. Prices per pack and per tonne are in the table below; by the pallet it is cheaper. Delivery across Ukraine from our warehouse with our own transport, to other regions by carrier. A quality certificate for the batch comes with the delivery note.
