8 mm wood pellets are granules made from dry pine sawdust, pressed without glue or chemical binders. The 8 mm diameter is intended for boilers and burners whose manual specifies 6-8 mm or 8 mm pellets: mostly medium and high output boilers, industrial burners and boiler houses. One kilogram gives about 4.7-5 kWh of heat, with up to 0.7% ash after burning.

How 8 mm differs from 6 mm. The raw material and calorific value are the same; the difference is in pellet diameter and length. An 8 mm pellet is slightly more massive, burns longer and produces fewer fines when poured. However, a domestic burner designed for 6 mm feeds it less reliably through the auger, so check your boiler manual before ordering. If your boiler takes both diameters, choose by price per tonne.

Quality. Ash content up to 0.7%, moisture up to 9%, mechanical durability about 98.8%, bulk density about 614 kg/m³. Batch documents (the producer's certificate and test report) are provided together with the delivery note.

Packaging. 15 kg bags made of clear polyethylene, for homes and topping up the hopper by hand; 67 bags per pallet, about a tonne, with pallets free of charge. Big bags of about 1000 kg are for boiler houses and warehouses with a forklift, at a lower price per tonne.

Price and delivery. Prices per bag and per tonne are in the table below. Delivery in Kyiv and across Ukraine with our own transport or by carrier; wholesale supplies for boiler houses and dealers under contract, by bank transfer with VAT.

How many pellets you need per season

Enter the area, insulation and region to estimate heat demand, tonnes, bags and pallets. Add the price per bag to see your winter budget. The estimate is approximate: indoor temperature, wind and the boiler can shift it by 20-30 %.

How we calculate: heat demand = area × insulation rate (80 / 120 / 170 kWh per m² per season) × regional factor. Fuel = heat ÷ useful calorific value (including boiler efficiency): wood pellets 4.3, agro pellets 3.7, anthracite 5.6, DG 4.4 kWh/kg. Method and table in the article "How much fuel you need per season".

Bag → price per tonne

Sellers quote per bag, per pack or per tonne, but offers should only be compared per tonne. Enter the price and weight and we will work out the price per tonne and how many bags make a tonne. It also works the other way: enter a price per tonne to get the bag price.

Per tonne: 66,7 bags of 15 kg.

Formula: price per tonne = bag price ÷ bag weight × 1000.

Questions and answers

Can I load 8 mm pellets into a boiler designed for 6 mm?

Better not. A burner and auger designed for 6 mm feed a thicker pellet unevenly; it can get stuck and put out the flame. If your boiler manual says "6-8 mm", it's fine; if it says 6 mm only, choose 6 mm pellets.

Do 8 mm pellets heat better than 6 mm?

The calorific value is the same because the raw material is the same: about 4.7-5 kWh per kilogram. An 8 mm pellet burns slightly longer and produces less dust when poured, which is why boiler houses with large hoppers tend to choose it.

How many bags are on a pallet, and is the pallet charged for?

A pallet holds 67 bags of 15 kg, about a tonne. Pallets are provided free of charge. For export to the EU we can ship on phytosanitary-treated pallets that comply with EU requirements.

What are the ash content and moisture of 8 mm pellets?

Ash content up to 0.7%, moisture up to 9%, mechanical durability about 98.8%. Batch documents (the producer's certificate and test report) are provided together with the delivery note.

When you need 8 mm pellets specifically

Boiler manual. The main source of the answer is your boiler or burner manual. If it says "6-8 mm pellets" or "8 mm", these pellets are suitable. If it says 6 mm only, choose 6 mm pellets: a longer, thicker pellet can get stuck in the auger and feed unevenly.

Boiler houses and industrial burners. For boilers from 50-100 kW with auger feed, 8 mm is the usual format: less dust when pouring from big bags and more stable combustion at high output.

Pre-season check. If in doubt, order a trial bag: a few days of boiler operation will show how the pellets feed and how much ash is left.
